TOP TIPS FOR CHOOSING FRAMES

There's lots to consider when selecting your frames.
Find a balance between style, comfort, budget
and most importantly, improved vision.

ONE:
THINK LENSES FIRST

Your choice of frame starts with your lenses, as these affect your options for frames, appearance, comfort, and vision.

If you have a strong prescription, you can ask for high-index lenses to have lenses made thinner, which will give your glasses a nicer appearance.

Speak to your dispensing optician about your lifestyle and what coatings would benefit your vision. For example, protect your eyes from glare or UV light, or to protect the lenses themselves from scratches, smudges, dust or water.

TWO:
STYLE

Think about a few key factors to help narrow down the right style for you:

What's your face shape? Round, oval, square, rectangular, heart-shaped or diamond-shaped. Skin, hair and eyes fall into ‘cool’ or ‘warm’ colour bases and glasses say a lot about the wearer; they add the finishing touches to a person’s ‘look’.

THREE:
PERFECT FIT

The outer rim of your frames should not extend beyond the end of your eyebrows to ensure the frames compliment your face shape.

The upper rim of your frames should follow the line of your eye brows to ensure a balanced aesthetic look.

The bottom rim of your frames shouldn't touch your cheeks as to avoid smudges on your lenses.

FOUR:
YOUR BUDGET

Keep your budget in mind when choosing your glasses. Styles and tastes may change so it is worth spending what you need to get the right lenses, before selecting a frame.  Your eye health is the most important factor.

Your dispensing optician can guide you through the selection of  frames to best suit your face, personality and budget.
