A CLEARER PICTURE

Dirty fingerprints, make-up, and pollution can leave your
glasses smudged and your vision hazy.
Here are some tips for keeping your glasses clean.

ATTRACTING
DIRT

Glasses seem to attract the dirt and grime of daily life. Smudges can be caused by all sorts of things; fingerprints, natural oil produced by your body, splashes from liquids throughout the day, using dirty clothes to wipe your glasses, fumes from passing traffic, humidity, picking up dirt and debris which you may not even see.

WHAT'S WRONG
WITH SMUDGES?

Over time, these elements will build up and can damage the surface of your lenses. A quick wipe with the bottom of your shirt won’t give you crystal clear vision and can cause damage to your lenses.

Smudges, as well as being bothersome (and potentially a little embarrassing), may cause eye fatigue and discomfort.

GO SMUDGE FREE

  • Avoid touching your face as natural body oils, make-up and moisturizing lotions can rub off onto your fingers and onto your glasses
  • Rinse your lenses under warm, running luke-warm water to remove any debris
  • Clean them with mild washing-up liquid to remove facials oils
  • Rinse, allow to dry, then polish with a micro-fibre lens cloth

DID YOU KNOW?
AVOIDING SMUDGES

Avoid smudges with the right frame

Some frames will be more prone to smudges than others. Larger plastic frames are often dirty around the edges. This is because the frames will have more contact with your face which will pick up more oil. The centre of the lens should align with the centre of your eye. Be careful that the bottom rim of your frames doesn't touch your cheekbones when you smile, as this would cause a misalignment of the centre of the lens as well as create smudges on your lenses.
